Baseball "X" Accounts Associate East Coast Earthquake with Juan Soto's Home Debut

An earthquake originating out of New Jersey on Friday morning was felt all over the East Coast, and some baseball accounts on "X" had a little fun, associating it with Juan Soto's Yankees' home debut.

An Earthquake originating in New Jersey shook the East Coast on Friday morning and baseball accounts of "X" took the opportunity to have a little fun regarding New York Yankees' star Juan Soto.

Per Bryan Hoch, who covers the Yankees for MLB.com:

Juan Soto is about to experience his Bronx debut in pinstripes and there's an earthquake at Yankee Stadium. Can't be a coincidence.

And Jimmy Randazzo of CBS Sports:

4.8 Earthquake on Opening Day.

The Earth is just saying hi to Juan Soto.

The 25-year-old Soto has Yankees fans very excited about his home opener after a stellar first seven games on the road that saw the Yanks go 6-1 through Houston and Arizona.

Off to a blistering start, Soto is hitting .345 in the early-going with a homer and four RBI. One of the best hitters in the league, Soto is already a three-time All-Star, a Home Run Derby champion and a batting champion. He's a four-time Silver Slugger who helped the Washington Nationals win the World Series in 2019 as well.

Lifetime, Soto is a .285 hitter who owns a .421 on-base percentage, which leads all active players.

The Yankees will play the division-rival Toronto Blue Jays on Friday afternoon with first pitch coming at 1:05 p.m. ET.

Blue Jays' lefty Yusei Kikuchi (0-1, 6.23 ERA) will pitch against Yankees' righty Marcus Stroman (1-0, 0.00 ERA).
