In this story:

The Arizona Diamondbacks lost on Monday night in the NLCS to the Philadelphia Phillies 5-3.

With the loss, the Diamondbacks are three losses away from elimination while the Phillies are three wins away from a return trip to the World Series.

Though the Diamondbacks lost, they continued to put their young stars on display for the national fanbase, something they've done all postseason.

Per Sarah Langs of MLB.com:

with Geraldo Perdomo, Corbin Carroll, Gabriel Moreno & Alek Thomas, the D-Backs are the 1st team in postseason history with 4 players age 23 or younger with multiple HR in a single postseason

Perdomo homered on Monday, taking Zack Wheeler deep for the Diamondbacks' first runs of the game. He went 1-for-3 in the affair. Arizona mustered just four hits for the game.

Perdomo is hitting .200 these playoffs with two home runs now and three RBI. An All-Star this season, he hit .246 in the regular season with six home runs and 47 RBI. He also stole 16 bases.

He made his debut in 2021 but became a lineup fixture for Arizona in 2022. He played in 144 games this season.

Game 2 of the NLCS is being played on Tuesday night. First pitch from Citizens Bank Park is set for 8:07 p.m. ET. Veteran right-hander Aaron Nola gets the ball for Philly while Merrill Kelly pitches for Arizona.

Nola is 2-0 this postseason with a 1.42 ERA while Kelly is 1-0 with a 0.00 ERA. Kelly knows something about pitching in big games, as he pitched in the World Baseball Classic final this year for Team USA.
