D'Backs Infielder Moves Up the Playoff History Books in Friday's Wild Game 4 Win

In this story:
The Arizona Diamondbacks came from behind to beat the Philadelphia Phillies on Friday night 6-5 and even the best-of-seven NLCS at two games apiece.
Now, both teams are just two wins from a World Series berth while both are also two losses from elimination.
Alek Thomas and Gabriel Moreno provided the late-game heroics, accounting for three runs in the bottom of the eighth inning, but the historic contributions of infielder Ketel Marte at the top of the order should not be ignored.
The switch-hitting former All-Star went 2-for-4 in the win with a walk and two runs scored.
Per Sarah Langs of MLB.com:
Ketel Marte has a 13-game hitting streak to start his postseason career, tied with 1976-80 Greg Luzinski for the 2nd-longest hit streak to start a postseason career, behind only:
1995-96 Marquis Grissom: 15

Marte is hitting .385 for his playoff career, having also made the playoffs in 2017 with the D'Backs.
The 30-year-old had another very productive season in Arizona, hitting .276 with 25 homers and 82 RBI. He stole eight bases and posted an .844 OPS.
Marte has spent part of nine seasons in the big leagues with the Mariners and Diamondbacks. Acquired from Arizona before the 2017 season, he's a lifetime .279 hitter with 107 home runs. He made the All-Star Game in 2019.
Game 5 of the NLCS will be played on Saturday night in Phoenix. First pitch is set for 8:07 p.m. ET as Zack Wheeler (PHI) pitches against Zac Gallen (ARI) in a battle of aces.
After this, the series shifts back to Philadelphia.
