Elly De La Cruz of the Cincinnati Reds Continues to Make Amazing Highlights with His Arm

In this story:
After setting the Statcast Era record on Sunday for the fastest infield throw, Cincinnati Reds rookie Elly De La Cruz was at it again on Monday, registering another insane throw of 95.0+ mph.
Per Sarah Langs of MLB.com, De La Cruz has already tied the record for the most 95.0 mph throws in a single season of the Statcast Era.

Barring injury, it seems extremely likely that De La Cruz will break this record sometime very soon.
One of the most exciting prospects in all of baseball, De La Cruz has come up and been a sparkplug for the Reds, who are battling for their first playoff berth since 2020.
You've seen and read about his arm, but he also boasts elite speed (he has 16 stolen bases) and he has elite power. He's got four homers and 16 RBI since being called up in early June and joins a bunch of other Reds prospects to contribute this year including Andrew Abbott, Matt McLain, Spencer Steer, Will Benson, and Brandon Williamson. The team also just called up Christian Encarnacion-Strand.
Unfortunately though, the Reds have lost four straight games and have fallen out of first place in the National League Central. At 50-44, they are 2.0 games back of the Milwaukee Brewers.
The Reds will take on the San Francisco Giants again on Tuesday. First pitch is 7:10 p.m. ET.
