Chicago Cubs infielder Christopher Morel is making so much history that we can barely keep track...

On Sunday, we told you that Morel was making team history by homering eight times in his first 11 games.

On Tuesday, we told you that he became the first Cubs player since 1998 to homer in five straight games.

And on Wednesday, there's two new pieces of history, as it relates to general baseball history.

Both pieces come from @OptaSTATS on Twitter:

Last 5 games for the @Cubs' Christopher Morel:

Batted 1st, hit a HR

Batted 8th, hit a HR

Batted 9th, hit a HR

Batted 6th, hit a HR

Batted 5th, hit a HR

He's the first player in MLB history to homer in 5 straight games from 5 different spots in the order.

And then there's this piece of history as well:

Christopher Morel of the @Cubs has played 12 games this year. He has gone deep in 9 of them. He's the first player in MLB history to homer in at least 9 of his first 12 games of a season.

At this point, you can't say much but 'wow.' What an epic run that Morel is on since being recalled from Triple-A. It makes you wonder why he didn't start the year on the big league club.

He's now hitting .367 with the nine home runs and 15 RBI. For his career, he's a .250 hitter with 25 homers and 62 RBI. He made his debut in 2022 when he played in 113 games for the Cubs.

The Cubs will play the Mets Wednesday at 7:40 p.m. ET.
