The Houston Astros Are the Kings of the No-Hitter

In this story:
Houston Astros ace left-hander Framber Valdez tossed the 16th no-hitter in franchise history on Tuesday in a 2-0 win over the Cleveland Guardians.
We chronicled the actual performance here, but the performance also put the organization in illustrious baseball history.
Per @OptaSTATS on Twitter:
The @astros have now thrown 5 no-hitters over the last 5 seasons, including playoffs (3 combined and one each by Justin Verlander and Framber Valdez). That's the most no-hitters by any team over any 5-year span in MLB history.

Given the Astros ability to develop and sustain pitching, this isn't surprising. They are one of the best teams in modern baseball at churning out pitchers, and Valdez is no different, becoming one of the best hurlers in the league.
He's now 9-7 on the season with a 3.07 ERA. He walked one and struck out seven in the 93-pitch masterpiece.
It was also a big performance for the Astros from a team standpoint, who are now just 0.5 games behind the Texas Rangers in the American League West. The defending champions also acquired future Hall of Famer Justin Verlander at the trade deadline and figure to be loading up for another run a title, which would be their third since 2017.
Houston will take on the Guardians again on Wednesday afternoon. First pitch from Houston is set for 2:10 p.m. ET. Rookie Tanner Bibee will pitch for Cleveland, who is 53-55. Bibee is 7-2 with a 3.11 ERA.
The Astros haven't named a starting pitcher yet as of this posting.
