Los Angeles Dodgers Do Something They've Never Done Before on Thursday

In this story:
The Los Angeles Dodgers lost to the Colorado Rockies on Thursday night 14-5 but the offense still made history in defeat.
By hitting his 32nd home run of the year, Dodgers' designated hitter J.D. Martinez became the fourth Dodger to hit the 100-RBI mark, which is the most in team history.
Per @MLB on social media:
This J.D. Martinez homer gives the @Dodgers 4 players with 100+ RBI in a season.
That's the most in franchise history (Since 1920 when RBI became official).

Martinez now has 100-RBI while Max Muncy has 105. Mookie Betts has 106 and Freddie Freeman has 101. Betts and Freeman are both MVP candidates and will be battling it out with Ronald Acuna Jr. and Matt Olson of the Braves for the award.
After a down-year in Boston in 2022, this has been a great bounce-back for Martinez, who made the All-Star team and has a .901 OPS. He's battled some injuries and has only 420 at-bats, making his counting numbers all the more impressive.
He's in his 13th major league season with the Astros, Tigers, Diamondbacks, Red Sox and Dodgers. He's got 314 homers and 999 RBI for his career. He's also a lifetime .287 hitter.
The Dodgers are now 98-61 on the season and are ticketed for a first-round bye and the No. 2 seed in the looming National League playoffs.
They'll start the final regular season series of the year on Friday night when they take on the San Francisco Giants.
First pitch from Oracle Park is set for 10:15 p.m. ET.
