Miami Marlins Star Reaches Feat That Had Only Been Done One Time Ever on Saturday

The Miami Marlins helped their playoff chances with an 11-5 win over the Atlanta Braves on Saturday afternoon and star Jazz Chisholm did something that had only been done once before in baseball history.

The Miami Marlins helped their playoff chances with an 11-5 win over the Atlanta Braves on Saturday afternoon.

The win pushed Miami to 77-72 and kept them at 0.5 games back in the National League wild card race.

The loss dropped the Braves to 96-52. They have already clinched the National League East but are trying to wrap up the No. 1 seed in the National League playoffs.

The Marlins' win was fueled by star outfielder Jazz Chisholm. He went 2-for-3 in the win with a grand slam, four RBI and three stolen bases.

That statistical effort had only ever been accomplished once before, per ESPN Stats & Info:

Jazz Chisholm is the 2nd player since 1900 to hit a grand slam and steal 3 bases in a game.

He joins Mike Cameron, who did it on May 16, 2002 at the Blue Jays.

The dynamic speedster has battled injury this season, registering only 310 at-bats to this point. He's hitting .255 with 17 homers, 44 RBI and 22 stolen bases. He's put together a .761 OPS.

Lifetime, he's a .246 hitter with 51 homers. He made his major league debut in 2020 and became one of the most fun personalities in the sport, even landing on the cover of the 2023 MLB: The Show video game franchise.

The Marlins will battle the Braves again on Sunday afternoon. First pitch is slated for 1:40 p.m. ET as Charlie Morton (ATL) goes up against Jesus Luzardo (MIA).

Morton is 14-11 with a 3.42 ERA while Luzardo is 9-9 with a 3.82.
