New York Yankees Slugger Hits Career Milestone on Saturday

New York Yankees veteran slugger Giancarlo Stanton reached a personal milestone in Saturday's win over the Colorado Rockies.

The New York Yankees beat the Colorado Rockies, 6-3, on Saturday night to even up the series at one game apiece. The Yankees were propelled by a big second inning that saw them score five runs.

Within that big inning was a three-run home run by slugger Giancarlo Stanton, who went 1-3 with four RBI. He now has 11 home runs on the season to go along with 29 RBI.

With the four RBI day, he also reached the 1,000 RBI mark for his career. You can watch the milestone-maker below:

The 33-year-old slugger is one of the most prodigious sluggers of his generation. He's connected on 389 home runs lifetime to go along with the 1,000 RBI. If he can stay healthy, it seems likely he'll also hit the 400-homer plateau this season.

He's in his 14th season in the big leagues with the Marlins and Yankees. He was traded to New York before the 2018 season.

He's led the league in home runs twice in his career, including when he hit 59 in 2017. He's also led the league in slugging three times and total bases once.

He's won an MVP award (2017) and has been named an All-Star five different times.

The Yankees enter play on Sunday at 50-43 overall. They are in fourth place in the American League East and trail the division race by 9.0 games. They are 1.0 game back in the wild card race.

The Yankees and Rockies will play again on Sunday with first pitch slated for 3:10 p.m. ET.
