The Philadelphia Phillies beat the Tampa Bay Rays on Tuesday by a score of 3-1. The win moved the Phillies to 45-39 and they now are tied for the third and final wild card spot in the National League after a disappointing start.

The win was fueled by starting pitcher Aaron Nola, who got the win on the mound while allowing five hits, one run, one walk and striking out 12. He's now 8-5 on the season with a 4.30 ERA.

His performance moved him up an impressive list in team history as well:

With his 30th career double-digit strikeout game, Aaron Nola moved into sole possession of third place in Phillies franchise history. He had been tied with Cole Hamels at 29.

It's been a great career for the 30-year-old Nola thus far. He was drafted in the first round of the 2014 draft by the Phillies out of LSU, made his debut in 2015 and has been productive ever since.

Lifetime, he's 86-67 with a 3.66 ERA. He's been named an All-Star before and helped the Phillies reach the World Series in 2022, where they fell to the Houston Astros.

The Phillies and Rays will play each other again on Wednesday at 6:40 p.m. ET as Taijuan Walker (9-3, 3.93 ERA) pitches against Zack Littell (0-1, 5.28 ERA).

The two teams will wrap up their series on Thursday before the Phillies head to Miami to finish out the first half of the season with the division rival Marlins. That will be a three-game series.
