The Philadelphia Phillies beat the Miami Marlins on Friday night by a score of 4-3. The Phillies are scorching hot lately, having won eight of their last 10 games.

They've also ascended into the thick of the National League playoff picture and currently hold the third wild card spot by one game over the Milwaukee Brewers.

In addition to being hot in general, the Phillies are hot on the road, doing something they haven't done as a franchise for nearly 50 years.

Per ESPN Stats & Info:

The Phillies come back down 2 in the 9th inning to win their 13th consecutive road game, tying their longest road win streak in franchise history (1976).

The Phillies got the go-ahead homer in this one from 24-year-old Cristian Pache, who popped his second of the year. Reliever Jeff Hoffman got the win on the mound, tossing two scoreless innings. Craig Kimbrel got the save, his 14th of the year.

The win moves Philadelphia to 48-39 on the season while the loss dropped the Marlins to 51-39. The Phillies are now just 1.5 games behind the Marlins in both the National League East and the wild card race.

The two teams will play again on Saturday afternoon in Miami. First pitch is scheduled for 4:10 p.m. ET.
