Seattle Mariners' Ty France Continues to Be Beaned at Historic Rates

The Seattle Mariners lost to the Los Angeles Dodgers on Friday night as first baseman Ty France continued to be a part of baseball history that no wants to be a part of.
France went 1-for-3 with a hit by pitch in the 6-3 loss, marking the 32nd time that he's been hit this year.

France leads the league in hit-by-pitches and also led the league in the same category in 2021 (27). Getting hit is part of his game and has contributed to his .339 on-base percentage this year.
France has seen a downturn in power and run production this season overall, hitting just 10 home runs with 56 RBI. He's hitting .250 overall as the Mariners battle for a playoff spot.
Seattle is now 81-66 on the year and 0.5 games up on the Toronto Blue Jays for the third and final wild card spot in the American League. They also trail the Houston Astros by 1.5 games in the American League West race.
The Mariners will continue their very difficult series with the Dodgers on Saturday night at T-Mobile Park.
First pitch is set for 9:40 p.m. ET as Dodgers' future Hall of Famer Clayton Kershaw pitches against M's rookie Bryce Miller.
Kershaw enters the matchup at a stellar 12-4 with a 2.61 ERA while Miller is 8-5 with a 4.05.
Los Angeles is 89-57.
