Shortstops around baseball were part of some unique history on Saturday because of their offensive performances.

Per @OptaSTATS on Twitter:

4-hit games in MLB today:

SS Corey Seager

SS J.P. Crawford

4-RBI games in MLB today:

SS Corey Seager

SS Carlos Correa

Since RBI became official in 1920, this is the only time there were multiple 4-hit games & multiple 4-RBI games on a given day with all of them by shortstops.

Sure, that's some very niche baseball history, but it's history nonetheless. And we're fans of niche history here at Fastball and FanNation.

We'll start with Seager, who was part of an 8-4 Rangers win over the Rays on Saturday. He was 5-5 in all at Tropicana Field with a homer and a double. He's now hitting a robust .352 with a .403 on-base percentage for the best offense in baseball.

As for Correa, he was an integral part of the Twins 9-4 win over the Blue Jays.  He was 1-5 on the day with a grand slam in the victory.

As for Crawford, he went 4-5 for the Mariners in a 6-2 win over the Los Angeles Angels. It was a much-needed win for Seattle as they moved to 31-32 on the year.

Crawford's Mariners will finish out a series with the Angels on Sunday at 4:07 p.m. ET.

Seager's Rangers will take on the Tampa Bay Rays at Tropicana Field. First pitch Sunday is 1:40 p.m. ET.

Correa's Twins will take on the Blue Jays again at 1:37 p.m. ET.
