St. Louis Cardinals Longtime Rotation Leader is the Only Player in More Than 50 Years to Accomplish This Feat

In this story:
Adam Wainwright of the St. Louis Cardinals joined some pitching legends this week by recording his 200th career win on the mound.
But did you know that Wainwright is now the only player in the last 50-plus years of baseball history to ever accomplish this feat?
Per @OptaSTATS on social media:
Number of players to debut in MLB in the divisional era (since 1969): 10,331
Number of those to hit 10+ HR: 2,394
Number of those to win 200+ games: 36
Number of those to do both: 1 (Adam Wainwright, @Cardinals)

Yup, back when pitchers in the National League were forced to hit, Wainwright was quite powerful at it. He's a lifetime .193 hitter with the 10 home runs and 75 RBI.
As a pitcher, he's 200-128 lifetime with a 3.53 ERA. The final year of his career hasn't gone the way he's wanted, but the 200th win is certainly a positive marker as he nears the end. He's just 5-11 this year with a 7.40 ERA.
Wainwright has played 18 major league seasons - all with the Cardinals. He's a three-time All-Star, a two-time Gold Glover, a World Series champion and a Silver Slugger winner.
He led the league in wins twice (2009 and 2013), won 20 games in 2014 and led the league in innings pitched twice.
On the team front, the Cardinals are 67-84 and in last place in the National League Central. They will be back in action on Wednesday night.
First pitch is set for 7:45 p.m. ET against the Milwaukee Brewers.
