Texas Rangers' Max Scherzer Set to Join Exclusive List in Game 3 of World Series

In this story:
The World Series is set to resume on Monday night with the Arizona Diamondbacks and Texas Rangers tied at one game apiece.
Each team is three wins away from the World Series title. Texas has never won a World Series while Arizona won its only title in 2001.
Getting the ball for Texas in Game 3 will be longtime ace Max Scherzer. Scherzer, who was out at the end of the regular season and the first two rounds of the playoffs with injury, gutted through the ALCS against the Houston Astros and is hoping to be stronger in this series.
He's also set to join a small fraternity in baseball history.
Per Sarah Langs of MLB.com:
Max Scherzer will be the 8th pitcher to start a World Series game with 3 franchises, joining:
John Lackey
Roger Clemens
Danny Jackson
Charlie Morton
Jack Morris
Bullet Joe Bush
Curt Schilling

Scherzer has previously started World Series games for the Detroit Tigers (2012) and Washington Nationals (2019). He has been to the playoffs 10 different years in his career and has pitched in 19 different playoff series.
One of the most accomplished pitchers of his generation, Scherzer is an eight-time All-Star and a three-time Cy Young winner. He helped the Nationals win the 2019 World Series over the Houston Astros as well.
This year, between the New York Mets and the Rangers, he went 13-6 with a 3.77 ERA.
Game 3 of the World Series is set for 8:03 p.m. ET. Scherzer pitches against the rookie Brandon Pfaadt.
