Here's the Latest Report on Angels' Shohei Ohtani and His Cracked Fingernail

In this story:
After he left his start early on Tuesday, the Los Angeles Angels got good news on Shohei Ohtani and his cracked fingernail.
The following update comes from the Rotowire fantasy baseball portal:
Ohtani is still scheduled to start Monday against the Padres despite his cracked fingernail, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.
ANALYSIS
Ohtani was pulled from his start Tuesday due to a cracked fingernail, but remained in the game as Los Angeles' designated hitter. While it doesn't seem like he'll miss his next start, it's possible the Angels push Ohtani back by a couple days if his nail is still bothering him by then.
Ohtani's injury didn't seem to affect him at all at the plate, as he belted a home run even after being removed as a pitcher. Prior to exiting, he struck out 10 over 6.1 innings.
What we're seeing from Ohtani is historic right now, and he seems to be making history every night.
At the plate, he's hitting .304 this season with a league-leading 28 homers. He's also driven in 64 and stolen 11 bases. On the mound, he's 7-3 with a 3.02 ERA. He's struck out 127 batters in 95.1 innings.
It's been quite the year for Ohtani. Before the season started, he helped Team Japan win the title at the World Baseball Classic. After the year his over, he'll get the biggest contract in baseball history, something that will likely go well north of $500 million.
The Angels (44-37) take on the White Sox on Wednesday at 9:38 p.m. ET.
