The Miami Marlins enter play on Sunday at 80-75 on the season and just 1.0 game back in the National League wild card race, but they keep getting bad injury news as they battle for that elusive playoff spot.

First, Luis Arraez suffered an injury on Saturday and could miss time. He leads the majors in hitting at .353 and his absence would be a devastating loss to the top of Miami's order.

More on his injury from Daniel Alvarez-Montes, who covers the team. His original post on "X" was in Spanish and has been translated via Google Translate.

Luis Arráez was injured in today's game.

Skip Schumaker says that when Tanner Scott, the team's closer, came in, they turned off the stadium lights and he slipped on the dugout stairs.

They turn off the lights for a show they do with music. They light them in different colors.

In his first year in Miami after an offseason trade from the Minnesota Twins, Arraez has certainly made his mark. He won the batting title in the American League in 2022 and is likely to close out the National League version this year.

Also, starting pitcher Sandy Alcantara has been shut out with UCL issues. Alcantara was placed on the injured list but felt confident about his return this year. He made a rehab start on Thursday but felt soreness coming out of it. He told reporters he'll have to determine if a surgical procedure is necessary.

You can read more on him from the Rotowire fantasy baseball portal.

The Marlins take on the Milwaukee Brewers on Sunday at 1:40 p.m. ET.
