The Minnesota Twins, who have already clinched the American League Central, have re-instated right-handed pitcher Chris Paddack from the injured list. He hasn't pitched since May of 2022 after undergoing Tommy John surgery.

As the Minnesota Twins prepare for a playoff run, they've gotten good news on the injury front, announcing on Sunday that they've re-instated right-handed pitcher Chris Paddack from the injured list.

Paddack hasn't pitched since May of 2022 after undergoing Tommy John surgery. In corresponding moves, Jovani Moran was transferred to the 60-day injured list and Josh Winder was sent to Triple-A.

While reports indicate that Paddack will be a multi-inning reliever through the playoff run, he's likely to return to the starting rotation in 2024.

He's got electric stuff so he could be a potential weapon as the Twins battle for a World Series title. Minnesota is likely to clinch the No. 3 seed in the American League playoff picture which means they will play the No. 3 wild card team, which is still undecided. It could be any of the Houston Astros, Seattle Mariners, Texas Rangers or Toronto Blue Jays.

Paddack made his major league debut in 2019 and is 21-21 lifetime with a 4.20 ERA. His best year was his rookie year (2019), when he went 9-7 with a 3.33 ERA for the Padres. He was acquired from San Diego before the 2022 season.

He'll be a free agent after the 2025 season so the Twins are looking at least two full years of his contributions.

The Twins will take on the Angels again on Sunday afternoon. First pitch is set for 2:10 p.m. ET. Joe Ryan pitches for Minnesota. He's 10-10 with a 4.30 ERA this season.
