Multiple Minnesota Twins Starters Undergoing Surgical Procedures

In this story:
Minnesota Twins starters Byron Buxton and Alex Kirilloff are undergoing surgical procedures this offseason, with Buxton undergoing his already.
Per Do-Hyoung Park of MLB.com:
Byron Buxton had an arthroscopic procedure to excise the plica in his right knee today, which the Twins hope will alleviate the patellar tendinitis risk and symptoms. Plan remains to get him ready for CF next year.

The 29-year-old Buxton dealt with another injury-plagued year this year. He didn't play anything but designated hitter because of ongoing knee issues and only played in 85 total games.
Only once in his career has Buxton played more than 100 games in a season. He's played nine years in the big leagues. It should be noted that the COVID 2020 season only featured 60 games, but Buxton still only played 39 of those.
He also struggled at the plate this year, hitting .207 with 17 homers and 42 RBI. When healthy, he's one of the best players in baseball, but we just haven't seen that very much. He wasn't able to play in the wild card series against the Blue Jays and was only added as a replacement in the division series against the Astros.
Also, on Kirilloff:
Alex Kirilloff is scheduled for labrum repair surgery on his right shoulder later this month.

It was his injury that opened up a roster spot for Buxton. He hit .270 this year in 281 at-bats, popping 11 home runs and bringing in 41. Lifetime, he's a .259 hitter in three seasons.
The Twins were beaten by Houston in the ALDS in four games.
