Arizona Diamondbacks star Corbin Carroll was named to his first All-Star Game this year, which is undoubtedly a special experience. But it has even more added meaning to him since the All-Star Game is in Seattle - where he grew up.

Speaking ahead of the All-Star festivities, he reflected on the accomplishment and its meaning.

"It's hard to put into words. The stadium I grew up going to, as you can see from that picture, I went to Mariners games from when I was pretty little. So just to be up there on that banner, it's kind of a full-circle moment is how I'd describe it."

Carroll's mother, Pey-Lin, posted a series of photographs over the weekend that went viral, which is what Corbin was referencing in the clip.

To whomever made the decision to place CC7’s photo at the gate that our family has entered through 100s of times: thank you!

Carroll is having an incredible season for the upstart Diamondbacks, helping them to a share of the lead in the National League West at the break. Arizona is 52-39, tied with the 51-38 Dodgers atop the division.

Carroll is hitting .289 this year with 18 homers, 48 RBI and 26 stolen bases. He's posted a .915 OPS and is the clear front runner for the National League Rookie of the Year award. He's also got an outside chance at the NL MVP if Ronald Acuna Jr. slows down in the second half.

Arizona will start the second half of the season on Friday against the Toronto Blue Jays.
