Atlanta Braves' Star Ronald Acuna Jr. is Still Hitting Home Runs Hours After Winning MVP Award

Just hours after winning the National League MVP Award, Atlanta Braves' superstar Ronald Acuna Jr. hit a home run while playing winter ball in Venezuela.

On Thursday night, Atlanta Braves' superstar Ronald Acuna Jr. won his first National League MVP Award.

On Thursday night, Acuna Jr. also hit a home run while playing in the Venezuelan winter league, proving there's no such thing as an offseason for the best players in the league.

Per Sarah Langs of MLB.com:

Homering hours after being named unanimous MVP?!

Amazing, Acuña

Of COURSE

Baseball is the best!!!

It is surprising to see Acuna Jr. playing so quickly after the season ended given the toll he put on his body this year, but he has played winter ball in his home country before and likely enjoys the chance to play in front of his home country fans.

It was an incredible season for Acuna Jr., who did things that we've never seen as the Braves raced out to the best record in all of baseball.

The 25-year-old hit a whopping .337 with 41 homers and 73 stolen bases. It was the first time in baseball history that we've seen a 40/70 season. He led baseball in plate appearances (735), at-bats (643), runs (149), hits (217) steals and on-base percentage (.416). He also posted a league-best OPS of 1.012.

He was named to his fourth All-Star Game this past summer and figures to be one of the best players in baseball for years to come. Despite how great Acuna Jr. was, he in a tight race for the award with Mookie Betts (Los Angeles Dodgers) and former teammate Freddie Freeman, also of the Dodgers.

Acuna Jr. was the unanimous selection while Betts finished second and Freeman third.
