There's no sense on going on Twitter for the rest of the day, people, the Atlanta Braves have already won the social media app for the day.

See, the Braves pulled off an expert troll of New York Mets slugger Pete Alonso late on Tuesday night.

The backstory: The Mets took a 4-1 lead on their division rivals thanks to a Pete Alonso home run. Alonso took a slider from Bryce Elder deep for his 22nd homer of the year, and then made sure to talk a little trash when he got back to the dugout. The clip of Alonso saying "throw it again" went viral on social media. You can watch that moment here.

Then, the Braves came back and eventually won the game, 6-4. That result provoked the Braves to say "throw it again," with a smiling emoji in a Twitter graphic about the victory.

Well played, Braves social media people.

The Braves scored four runs in the sixth inning to help get the comeback started and tacked on another run in the bottom of the eighth. Sean Murphy had a two-run double, Marcell Ozuna had a double, as did Orlando Arcia, all in that sixth inning.

With the win, the Braves moved to 36-24 on the season and they remained three games ahead of the Miami Marlins in the division. They are now 6.5 games ahead of the Mets, who fell to 30-31 in the loss.

New York has now lost six of its last 10 games.

The two teams will play again on Wednesday at 7:20 p.m. ET.
