Baltimore Orioles Will Re-Instate Broadcaster After Ludicrous Suspension Goes Viral

The Baltimore Orioles indefinitely suspended broadcaster Kevin Brown but will reportedly bring him back in the near future.

Baltimore Orioles' broadcaster Kevin Brown went viral on Monday for all the wrong reasons when it was discovered that he had been suspended indefinitely from team broadcasts.

"Awful Announcing" and "Jomboy Media," among others tweeted about the suspension.

Brown was suspended following comments made last week before an Orioles and Rays game in which Brown just pointed out that the Orioles haven't been very good against the Rays in recent years.

He also pointed out that the O's have been much better against the Rays this season as part of their great turnaround.

You can watch the comments in question below:

Brown did not reference the Orioles previously low payroll, possible tanking and did not take shots at the organization or its ownership group, but evidently, someone was offended by him simply pointing out the truth.

After the story went viral, it was reported that Brown would be back soon, but not yet.

The "Baltimore Banner" posted a story with that information:

"We don’t comment on employment decisions, however, [broadcaster] Kevin Brown will be back with us in the near future," a senior Orioles official told The @BaltimoreBanner.

Mutliple broadcasters came to Brown's defense including Gary Parrish of CBS:

I guess somebody with the Orioles decided to overshadow a great season by nonsensically suspending an announcer.

This is insanity.

Kevin Brown didn't even come close to saying or doing anything wrong here.

And Jason Benitti of the Chicago White Sox and Fox Sports:

Kevin Brown is one of the most talented, thoughtful, curious, positive people I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting, working with and calling a friend.

He’s truly one of the best play-by-play announcers in the country.

If the Orioles don’t want him, another team’ll be elated.

We'll have more on this story as it becomes available.
