Bobby Witt Jr.'s Social Media Post After Signing New Deal Will Have Kansas City Royals Fans Jacked Up

On Monday, Kansas City Royals' superstar Bobby Witt Jr. signed a record-breaking 11-year extension to stay in Kansas City. His post on social media following the announcement will have Royals fans ready to run through a wall.

On Monday, Kansas City Royals' superstar Bobby Witt Jr. signed a record-breaking 11-year contract extension worth approximately $290 million. Because of opt-outs and other contract nuances, the deal could be as little as seven years and as much as 14, but either way, Witt Jr. is spending the foreseeable future in Kansas City.

The Royals haven't made the playoffs since 2015 but have spent over $100 million this offseason to improve the roster. They've extended Witt and brought in Seth Lugo, Michael Wacha, Hunter Renfroe, Adam Frazier, Chris Stratton and Will Smith.

While that alone is enough to give Royals fans optimism, Witt Jr.'s post on social media upon signing his megadeal will have them ready for Opening Day right away.

I am incredibly grateful to the Sherman family and the Royals front office for believing in me, and I promise to do everything in my power to help bring championship baseball back to Kansas City! Let’s go!!

The Royals last won the World Series in that 2015 season and Witt Jr., is the perfect guy to build around as the organization tries to get back to that level.

One of the best young players in all of baseball, Witt Jr. hit .276 last season with 30 homers. He also stole 49 bases, led baseball in triples with 11 and drove in 96. Somehow, he was not named an All-Star last season.

He finished fourth in the Rookie of the Year voting in the American League back in the 2022 season. The award was won by Julio Rodriguez of the Seattle Mariners that season.
