Sure, the Boston Red Sox would love to be playing playoff baseball right now.

But if you can't be playing in the playoffs, visiting the National Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown is a pretty good spot to be.

That's where Sox' rookie Masataka Yoshida is Saturday, as he posted the picture to his social media accounts.

Red Sox Insider Tyler Milliken relayed the picture on his social media:

As someone who has been to the Hall of Fame multiple times in his life (and earlier this year), this is an awesome thing for Yoshida. Presumably, this is his first time, and there's no better place to enjoy baseball history than in Cooperstown. Whether you are visiting the plaques, seeing the artifacts, or just going up and down Main Street, the history of the game is everywhere.

Yoshida just wrapped up his first season in the majors after coming over from Japan. He signed a five-year, $90 million deal with the Red Sox and made an offensive impact almost immediately. In 140 games, he hit .289 with a .338 on-base percentage. He slugged 15 home runs and brought in 72 runs, generally hitting in the middle of the Sox' order.

It will be interesting to see what the Red Sox do in the offseason to help support the lineup, but they are rumored to be players for Yoshida's WBC teammate Shohei Ohtani, who is the biggest free agent on the market.

The Red Sox finished 78-84 and finished in last place in the American League East.
