Chicago Cubs' Christoper Morel Goes Viral After Sharing Hilarious Moment With Fan

The Chicago Cubs blew out the St. Louis Cardinals on Thursday in a tension-filled game, but did you see the moment that Cubs player Christopher Morel shared with a young fan?

The Chicago Cubs blew out the St. Louis Cardinals on Thursday 10-3.

It was a tension-filled game that saw Cardinals starting pitcher Miles Mikolas get ejected in the first inning for throwing at Cubs outfielder Ian Happ.

Mike Tauchman had three hits and a home run for the Cubs but the best moment of the game involved Cubs player Christopher Morel. It had nothing to do with the game itself - it had to do with an interaction that he had with a young fan behind the dugout.

You can watch the video below but you can hear the young fan asking Morel if he would be willing to play a game of "rock, paper, scissors," with the winner getting a bag of sunflower seeds.

The fan beat Morel in a best two-out-of-three and Morel lived up to his bargain, retrieving a bag of sunflower seeds from the Cubs dugout.

In the game, Morel went 3-for-4 with a double, two RBI and three runs scored.

For the year, he's hitting .281 with 16 homers and 48 RBI. The 24-year-old is in his second year with the big leagues and has 32 career home runs and 95 RBI.

After the win, the Cubs are an even .500 at 51-51. They are now just 5.5 games back in the National League Central and have won eight of their last 10 games.

The team has been firmly thought of as sellers at the looming trade deadline but perhaps the recent performance can change the opinion of the front office.

The Cubs and Cardinals play on Friday at 8:15 p.m. ET.
