Here is Vegas' Over Under Win Total Projection for the 2023 Chicago Cubs

In this story:
BETMGM recently released its over/under win totals, now available for betting.
The casino has the Chicago Cubs at 77.5 wins.
The Cubs won 74 games a season ago, finishing in third place in a weak National League Central. The club will play fewer games against its weak division in 2023, due to Major League Baseball's new schedule that will have each team play the other 29 MLB teams.
The Cubs had a very active offseason, signing free agents Dansby Swanson, Jameson Taillon, Cody Bellinger, Tucker Barnhart, Brad Boxberger, Trey Mancini, Michael Fulmer and Eric Hosmer.
It remains unclear what exactly the Cubs front office's plan is for 2023. The Cubs have one of baseball's top ten farm systems, per MLB Pipeline, but many of the prospects appear to be at least a year or more away from making an impact at the Major League level.
All of the free agents the club signed over the winter, aside from Swanson and Taillon, agreed to one or two-year contracts. It appears Mancini, Hosmer, Bellinger and Barnhart are merely stopgaps until the club's prospects are ready to make an impact at the Major League level.
Ian Happ is entering the final year of his contract and has not agreed to an extension. Marcus Stroman can opt out after the conclusion of the 2023 season and hit free agency again.
With a number of club's starting position players, pitchers and relievers approaching free agency, the Cubs could have a fire sale come the trade deadline, if the club is out of the hunt.
The first couple months will likely be very important for the direction of the club. Some believe the Cubs could compete for a National League Wild Card spot. If the Cubs are out of the mix in the NL come July, they'll have an opportunity to shop a number of rental players, making room for prospects and young players to see an increased role down the stretch of the season.
Thus, BETMGM has the Cubs at 77.5 wins. The Cubs would need to win four more games in 2023 than they did in 2022 in order to reach the over. The Cubs have not won more than 74 games in a season since 2019.
77.5 seems like the right number for the Cubs. I could see the club finishing with anywhere between 70 and 80 wins.
Here's a list of all 30 teams' over/under win totals from BETMGM.
