Players have reported to spring training, and spring training games will start being played later this week.

The Atlanta Braves will play their first spring training game Saturday, February 25 at their spring training home in North Port, Florida at CoolToday Park. They will host the Boston Red Sox in both teams' first Grapefruit League game of the spring.

Here's a look at the Braves' entire spring training schedule:

The Braves will play exhibition games against the Dominican Republic National Team (March 8) and Team Puerto Rico (March 9) in the lead up to the 2023 World Baseball Classic. The March 9 game vs. Team Puerto Rico will be a split squad game, with the other half of the Braves' team playing the Toronto Blue Jays.

Seven of the Braves' spring training games will air on Bally Sports. Four will run on Bally Sports Southeast, with the other three running on Bally Sports South. The Braves could potentially have other games televised on ESPN and/or MLB Network.

Here's a look at the Braves' television broadcast schedule:

The Braves' roster will continue to look a bit different from the way it did when the club won the World Series in 2021. Less than a year after Braves' longtime first baseman Freddie Freeman signed a six-year contract with the Los Angeles Dodgers, the Braves said goodbye to another staple of their championship infield. Gold Glover Dansby Swanson signed a seven-year, $177 million contract.

To replace Freeman, the Braves found a trade partner in the Oakland Athletics, who sent them All-Star first baseman Matt Olson for a batch of prospects including Shea Langeliers and Cristian Pache. Nine months later, anticipating the departure of Swanson, the Braves added another star from the A's via trade.

In December, the Braves acquired star catcher Sean Murphy, in a trade involving All-Star William Contreras.

The Braves did not add a shortstop on the open market, following the Astros' playbook from a season ago, when All-Star shortstop Carlos Correa signed a three-year contract with the Minnesota Twins. For the Astros, it was next man-up. Houston made rookie Jeremy Pena their Opening Day shortstop. Pena would go on to win World Series MVP and ALCS MVP honors, to go with an AL Gold Glove.

The Braves are expected to play Jonathan Villar and 22-year-old Vaughn Grissom in the place Swanson occupied for the last several years. The Braves instead improved significantly at catcher, adding a premium defensive backstop with some pop in his bat.

The Braves are coming off 101-win season in which they were defeated by the Philadelphia Phillies in the National League Division Series in four games. The Braves have won the National League East five years in a row, and hope to defend their throne again in 2023.
