In this story:

A few weeks ago, a mysterious gamer went viral for playing "Fortnite" on the Fenway Park video board.

WBZ News Radio reporter Matt Shearer had the inside scoop on who was grinding towards a Victory Royale at the home of the Boston Red Sox that day, and it turns out it was 10-year-old Ramie Darling.

Darling is a patient at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. He was diagnosed with Hepatoblastoma – a rare liver cancer – in December 2022, and he ultimately came all the way from Florida to Massachusetts to receive treatment.

Thanks to "The Jimmy Fund Let's Game" initiative, Darling got the chance to play "Fortnite" at Fenway Park with famous YouTube streamer Clix. Other cancer patients were present at the oldest baseball stadium in America for the event as well, as documented by Shearer.

Darling and Clix wound up securing a rare win in the wildly popular survival game that night. While it's hard to know for sure where the other 98 players in their "Fornite" lobby were during the match, it's safe to say no one else was playing on a 62-foot-by-16-foot jumbotron inside an MLB ballpark.

Last summer, Darling met up with New England Patriots quarterback Mac Jones as part of another partnership with the Jimmy Fund. He was an honorary captain at the Patriots' preseason game against the Houston Texans on Aug. 10.

The "Jimmy Fund Let's Game" fundraising page can be found online HERE. The goal is to raise $10,000.

The Red Sox – a longtime partner of both Dana-Farber and the Jimmy Fund – begin their season at Fenway Park against the Baltimore Orioles on April 9.
