Los Angeles Dodgers' Shohei Ohtani Goes Viral For Incredible Gift to Teammate's Wife

In this story:
Los Angeles Dodgers' superstar Shohei Ohtani is nothing if not generous. The recent Dodgers' signee went viral on Saturday night for gifting a Porsche to the wife of teammate Joe Kelly.
The reason? Because Kelly gave Ohtani his number 17 when he joined the Dodgers. You can see the video from Fox Sports Baseball Analyst Ben Verlander below:

Ohtani, who signed a 10-year, $700 million deal a few weeks ago, can certainly afford the sweet ride, and we're sure that Mrs. Kelly will enjoy it as well.
We've heard several stories in the past about guys who give exorbitant sums of money to other players in exchange for numbers, but gifting someone's wife? This may be a first. Having a consistent number is often important to a player's brand.
It's a great gesture by Ohtani, especially around the holidays.
Signing Ohtani instantly put the Dodgers in a position to be viable contenders for the World Series crown in 2024, a likelihood that's been heightened by a later trade for Tyler Glasnow and the signing of Japanese ace Yoshinobu Yamamoto.
The Dodgers last won the World Series in the COVID-shortened 2020 season, when they beat the Tampa Bay Rays.
Ohtani is coming off a season in which he won his second American League MVP in the last three years. He hit a league-high 44 home runs last season while playing for the Los Angeles Angels.
Unfortunately, because of arm surgery, Ohtani won't be able to pitch in 2024 but he will continue to be a force in the Dodgers' lineup.
