Carlos Correa's Arm Continues to Re-write Team Record Books on Wednesday Afternoon vs. Los Angeles Dodgers

The Minnesota Twins beat the Los Angeles Dodgers on Wednesday afternoon as Carlos Correa's arm helped save the day. He threw out Shohei Ohtani at the plate with a record-breaking throw that aided in the one-run win.

Minnesota Twins' star Carlos Correa went 2-for-4 at the plate on Wednesday as the Twins beat the Los Angeles Dodgers, 3-2, at Target Field.

The win moved Minnesota to 4-6 on the year while the loss dropped the Dodgers down to 10-5.

Not only did Correa contribute at the plate, he was clutch defensively as well, throwing out Shohei Ohtani at the plate in a game where one run was the deciding margin.

The throw also helped re-write the Twins' record books, according to Sarah Langs of MLB.com:

92.2 mph from Correa here is tied for the Twins’ 2nd-fastest tracked assist by an infielder under Statcast (2015) with himself on 7/8/22, behind only:

himself on 9/20/22: 93.5 mph

The throw was even more clutch considering it was in the seventh inning of the one-run game. Correa, the former No. 1 overall pick in the draft, is known to have a great arm and it's undoubtedly made better considering the health of his back and feet in the early going of the season. Those two areas have given him problems in recent years.

The 29-year-old Correa is in the 10th year of his career with the Astros and Twins, helping the Astros win the World Series during the 2017 season.

Lifetime, he's a .273 hitter with 174 home runs.

The Twins were rained out on Thursday afternoon against the Detroit Tigers and will be in action again on Friday, also against Detroit.

First pitch has been set for 6:40 p.m. ET. A doubleheader will be played on Saturday afternoon.
