Philadelphia Phillies outfielder Nick Castellanos is known more for his bat than his glove, but he now stands surprisginly atop this impressive defensive list in the National League.

Per Danny Vietti of CBS Sports:

There is only 1 remaining qualified player in the National League that has not made an error this season: Nick Castellanos

Lack of errors is not something that the new-school baseball minds always believe reflects a good defensive player, but it's still impressive to not have booted a ball for the entire season.

The new way of thinking focuses more on range and ground covered than it does to simply field a ball right at you, but nonetheless, Castellanos has successfully fielded everything he can get to.

He's still doing his usual work with the bat as well, hitting .268 with 22 home runs and 89 RBI. He's posted a .307 on-base percentage and a .758 OPS.

He signed a five-year deal with the Phillies before the 2022 season and is under contract through 2026.

He's in his 11th year in the big leagues with the Tigers, Cubs, Reds and Phillies. Lifetime, he's a .276 hitter with 203 homers and 745 RBI. He is a two-time All-Star (2021 and 2023).

The Phillies are 79-65 on the season and currently own the top wild card spot in the National League.

They'll take on the Atlanta Braves on Tuesday night at 6:40 p.m. ET. Lefty Max Fried (ATL) pitches against Zack Wheeler (PHI).

Fried is 7-1 with a 2.70 ERA while Wheeler is 11-6 with a 3.49.
