Seattle Mariners Regular Continues to Get Fans Excited with Offseason Videos

Seattle Mariners' first baseman Ty France is working out at Driveline this offseason, continuing to fuel excitement for the fans.

The Seattle Mariners haven't given their fans much to be excited about this offseason, but first baseman Ty France is doing his part to buoy the spirits.

The starter has been training at Driveline in Washington and fans are happy to see the work he's putting in behind the scenes, specifically on becoming a stronger and more balanced hitter.

You can watch a portion of his work below:

While just going to Driveline doesn't guarantee success in 2024, it shows that France is fully committed toward rectifying the ills that plagued him at the end of 2022 and most of 2023.

France was an All-Star based on the first half of his 2022 season but his numbers cratered from that point forward. He lost nearly all his power in 2023, hitting just 12 home runs and driving in 58. He hit only .250 and if not for the fact that he led the league in hit-by-pitches, his on-base percentage would have been much lower than the .337 it was.

The Mariners were already starved for offense in a season in which they missed the playoffs by 1.0 game. Now? They've lost Teoscar Hernandez, Jarred Kelenic and Eugenio Suarez this offseason. It's going to be difficult for the M's to find replacements for them on the market, especially given their apparent budget constraints, so getting France going is one of the ways in which the Mariners can help find new sources of offense.

He's a lifetime .270 hitter who is best known for his bat, so the tool is in there somewhere. Perhaps Driveline will help unlock it for him like it did for JP Crawford, who posted his best career season in 2023 after training at the facility.
