As the Seattle Mariners take on the Chicago White Sox in the spring training opener on Saturday afternoon, they are putting out a lineup of several regular players, including newcomers Jorge Polanco and Mitch Garver.

Per Adam June of the Seattle Times:

Mariners lineup for Cactus League opener at White Sox:

Crawford, SS

Polanco, 2B

Garver, DH

France, 1B

Trammell, RF

Rojas, 3B

Zavala, C

Marlowe, CF

Solak, LF

Casey Lawrence, SP

The M's are playing five regulars in the spring opener, which will be fun for fans to see. Crawford was the engine that drove the M's offense in 2023 so it's good to see him in the leadoff spot. Polanco will start for the team at second base while Garver gets an early look at designated hitter. He was signed to a two-year deal this offseason and wil be expected to provide power and thump to the lineup.

It will be fun to watch Ty France, who has trimmed down and re-tooled his swing in an effort to have a better 2024, and finally Josh Rojas will be a big part of the lineup at third.

The M's are only not playing Cal Raleigh, Julio Rodriguez, Mitch Haniger and Luke Raley from the core of players that figure to get regular playing time.

Seattle went 88-74 last season and missed the playoffs by 1.0 game. They are seeking to make the playoffs for only the second time since the 2001 season.

They'll open the regular season on March 28 against the Boston Red Sox at home.
