Seattle Mariners' star Julio Rodriguez got some air time on the big scoreboard on Friday night at the Orlando Magic game. The Magic were taking on the Philadelphia 76ers.

Rodriguez also was seen hanging out before the game with Magic star Paolo Banchero, who is a Seattle native. Banchero has previously been featured at Mariners games also.

It's not the first time that we've seen Rodriguez at a sporting event recently - he was also at the Tampa Bay Buccaneers playoff game on Monday night. Evidently, he's soaking up his last bits of fun in Florida before the M's report to spring training in Arizona in February.

Rodriguez and Banchero are two of the most recognizable Seattle sports figures at this point, probably alongside DK Metcalf of the Seattle Seahawks.

Banchero won Rookie of the Year last season for Orlando and is averaging 22.7 points per game this year.

Rodriguez won Rookie of the Year in the American League during the 2022 season for the Mariners and is already one of the best players in baseball.

Rodriguez put together a special year for the Mariners in 2023, who finished 88-74 and missed the playoffs by one game. He hit .275 for Seattle with 32 homers and 103 RBI. He also stole 37 bases and made the All-Star Game for the second straight year.

If Seattle is going to rebound from a disappointing 2023, he'll have to be the driving force yet again. He certainly has the tools to be that catalyst, so we'll see what he does in his age 23 season.
