The Atlanta Braves will open a three-game series against the San Diego Padres Monday night at 9:40 p.m. ET at Petco Park in San Diego, Calif.

The Braves (12-4) enter play Monday with the best record in the National League and are still the favorites to win the World Series according to the gambling website Fanduel. Since dropping three of four to the Padres at home a little over a week ago, the Braves haven't lost, winning six straight games, sweeping the Cincinnati Reds and Kansas City Royals.

The Padres (8-9) have been in a bit of a funk since their impressive showing in Atlanta. San Diego dropped two of three games in New York to the Mets last week, then lost three of four against the Milwaukee Brewers at Petco Park to round out the weekend. The Padres are favored slightly, according to the odds on Fanduel. They are minus-130, and the over/under is 7.5

Braves ace Max Fried (0-0, 2.70 ERA) will make his first start since Opening Day Monday night. Fried was placed on the 15-day Injured List with left bicep inflammation. He was reinstated from the IL on Monday.

Ryan Weathers (1-0, 2.70 ERA) will take the mound for the Padres, as they try to get back to .500 with a win Monday night.
