Starting Lineups, Pitchers for Detroit Tigers, St. Louis Cardinals March 18 Spring Training Game

In this story:
The Detroit Tigers will play the St. Louis Cardinals Saturday at 1:05 p.m. ET at the Cardinals' spring training home, Roger Dean Chevrolet Stadium in Jupiter, Florida.
23-year-old Matthew Liberatore will take the mound for the Cardinals. The club acquired Liberatore along with Edgardo Rodriguez and a Competitive Balance Round B Draft Pick from the Tampa Bay Rays in exchange for Jose Martinez, Randy Arozarena and a Competitive Balance Round A Draft Pick. The Rays had selected Liberatore with the 16th overall pick in the 2018 MLB Draft.
Liberatore made his Major League debut in 2022, logging a 5.97 ERA over 34.2 innings pitched, seven starts and two relief appearances.
Matthew Boyd will start for the Tigers. Boyd pitched for Detroit from 2015 through 2021. After a one-year detour to Seattle, Boyd returned to the Tigers over the winter, signing a one-year, $10 million deal.
