The Houston Astros will open a three-game series Monday night against the Detroit Tigers at 8:10 p.m. ET at Minute Maid Park in Houston.

The Tigers are looking to pick up their first win of the 2023 season, after they were swept by the Tampa Bay Rays in their opening series over the weekend.

The Astros split a four-game series in Houston with the Chicago White Sox, before playing host to the Tigers.

Matthew Boyd will make his first start for the Tigers since 2021. He signed a free agent contract to return to the club, after spending 2022 with the Seattle Mariners. Rookie Hunter Brown will make his first start since joining the Astros' pitching rotation. He hopes to be a difference-maker in his first Major League season.
