Starting Lineups, Pitchers for Seattle Mariners vs. Chicago Cubs Game Monday

In this story:
The Seattle Mariners will open a three-game series Monday night at 7:40 p.m. ET at Wrigley Field against the Chicago Cubs in Chicago, Illinois.
The Mariners (4-6) are coming off a series win in Cleveland, taking two of three from the Guardians. The Cubs (4-4) just picked up their first series win of the season over the weekend, taking two of three from the Texas Rangers. Now, they will play host to another American League West opponent at Wrigley Field.
After getting roughed up in his first start, Drew Smyly (0-1, 11.57 ERA) will look to improve in his second appearance of the season, Monday night. Smyly allowed six earned runs off nine hits, two walks and a home run when he last took the rubber, April 3 against the Cincinnati Reds at the Great American Ballpark.
The Mariners will give the ball to their ace Luis Castillo (1-0, 0.00 ERA) Monday night. Through two starts and 11.2 innings pitched, Castillo has yet to allow a run in 2023. The Mariners acquired him in a blockbuster trade last summer for prospects Noelvi Marte, Edwin Arroyo, Levi Stoudt and Andrew Moore. Castillo signed a five-year, $108 million contract extension with a sixth-year option last September.
