The Seattle Mariners (13-16) and Oakland Athletics (6-24) will play the second game of a three-game series Wednesday night at the Oakland Coliseum in Oakland, California. First pitch is set for 9:40 p.m. ET.

The Mariners took game one Tuesday with a 2-1 victory over their divisional foe. Seattle hopes to pick up a few more wins while it battles with the A's, owners of the worst record in Major League Baseball at 6-24.

Seattle is off to a slow start, following its first postseason series victory since 2001. The Mariners also made their first playoff trip in 21 seasons last fall, sweeping the Toronto Blue Jays in the AL Wild Card Series, but falling to the Houston Astros in the ALDS. Three games below .500, Scott Servais' team will try to get it going against the A's.

Hours before Wednesday's game, the A's called-up outfielder JJ Bleday. Bleday was the fourth overall pick of the 2019 MLB Draft, selected by the Miami Marlins out of Vanderbilt University. Oakland acquired him in a one-for-one trade for reliever AJ Puk over the winter. Bleday started the season at Triple-A Las Vegas, slashing .316/.429/1.071 over 25 games. He will start in left field and bat fifth for the A's Wednesday night.

Logan Gilbert (1-1, 4.23 ERA) will take the mound for the Mariners. JP Sear (0-2, 6.23 ERA) will look for his first win of the season, as he gets the start for the A's.
