The St. Louis Cardinals will play game two of their three-game series against the Colorado Rockies at Coors Field Tuesday night at 7:40 p.m. ET.

The Cardinals are trying to dig themselves out of an early hole they have created for themselves. The club entered 2023 as heavy favorites to win the National League Central, but is off to a slow start. Through their first ten games, the Redbirds are 3-7 and have a run differential of -9.

The Rockies hung six runs on Cardinals starter Steven Matz Monday night in the series opener. Matz allowed six runs on nine hits and two walks in 5.2 innings pitched, as Colorado defeated St. Louis 7-4.

Opening Day starting pitcher Miles Mikolas (0-1, 9.64 ERA) will attempt to right the ship for the Cardinals Tuesday night, as he makes his third start of the season. Mikolas got knocked around in his first two starts, allowing a combined ten runs off 19 hits, one walk and one home run over 9.1 innings pitched.

Taking the mound for the Rockies Tuesday is former top-10 pick Kyle Freeland (2-0, 0.00). Freeland has won each of his first two starts and has yet to allow a run this season.
