Starting Lineups, Starting Pitchers for New York Yankees vs. Minnesota Twins Game Monday

In this story:
Coming off the heels of their first series loss of the new season, the New York Yankees (13-9) will open a three-game series at Target Field in Minneapolis, Minnesota Monday at 7:40 p.m. ET against the Minnesota Twins (12-10).
The Yankees are off to a strong, 13-9 start, but find themselves six games back of the Tampa Bay Rays in the American League East. The Rays are 19-3 entering Monday, the best start the franchise has ever had in a season.
The Twins enter Monday in first place of the American League Central division, with a one-game lead over the Cleveland Guardians.
The Yankees have reigned supreme over the Twins in recent years, but Minnesota was able to split a four-game series a little over a week ago when the two clubs met in New York. Now, the teams will face each other for the final time in 2023, unless they meet in the postseason this October.
25-year-old Jhony Brito (2-1, 5.40 ERA) will take the mound for the Yankees Monday evening.
Former Yankees pitcher Sonny Gray (2-0, 0.82 ERA) will start for the Twins, opposite Brito. The Yankees acquired Gray from the Oakland Athletics prior to the 2017 MLB trade deadline. In his lone full season in New York, Gray logged an 11-9 record and a career-worst 4.90 ERA. The Twins acquired Gray from the rebuilding Cincinnati Reds in March 2022. Through four starts this season, Gray has the third-lowest ERA in the American League, at 0.82.
