Texas Rangers slugging outfielder Adolis Garcia had the best performance of his career on Saturday night against the Oakland Athletics.

The Rangers beat the A's by a lopsided score of 18-3 as Garcia went a perfect for 5-5. He posted two doubles and three home runs, giving him five extra-base hits for the night. He also scored five runs and had eight RBI.

With that kind of performance, Garcia joined an exclusive club in baseball history. The Twitter account @optaSTATS pointed out just how special his night was:

"Adolis Garcia tonight: 3 HR, 5 runs, 8 RBI

Since RBI became an official stat in 1920, only five other players have had 3+ HR, 5+ runs, and 8+ RBI in a single game:

Adam Duvall (2020)

Anthony Rendon (2017)

Gil Hodges (1950)

Walker Cooper (1949)

Jim Tabor (1939)

Baseball has been played for a long time, so anytime you join a club with fewer than 10 people on it, that's an accomplishment.

Garcia is a key part of the Rangers turnaround this year. Texas is 13-7 and in first place in the American League West, looking to make its first playoff appearance since 2016. He's out to a .260 start this season with seven home runs and 28 RBI. He's also added one stolen base.

For his career, which began in 2018, he's a .244 hitter with 65 home runs and 220 RBI.

He made his debut in 2018 with the Cardinals but was traded to the Rangers for cash considerations before the 2019 season.

The Rangers and A's will play again on Sunday at 2:35 p.m. ET.
