Gausman is second in all of baseball in strikeouts, behind only Spencer Strider of the Braves, who has 106. Gausman has 100, which is more than other American League starters like Shohei Ohtani (90), Pablo Lopez (86) and Shane McClanahan (82).

He recorded double-digit strikeout games against the Brewers (Thursday), Tigers, Yankees, Mariners and Yankees again.

For the season, Gausman is 4-3 with the 2.76 ERA. He's struck out the 100 batters in just 75.0 innings.

The 32-year-old is in his second year as a member of the Blue Jays and was a major reason of why Toronto made the playoffs in the 2022 season. He made his major league debut in 2013 with the Orioles and spent parts of six seasons in Baltimore. He then pitched in Atlanta for parts of two years, Cincinnati for part of one, San Francisco for two years and now Toronto. He made the All-Star team in 2021 with the Giants.

He won a career-high 14 games that season and has four different seasons with double-digit wins.

Toronto is traveling to New York on Friday for a series with the New York Mets.
