After finishing last in the National League East again this season, the Washington Nationals have made multiple changes to their major league coaching staff.

Per Britt Ghiroli of 'The Athletic:'

The Nationals are making more changes. Bench coach Tim Bogar, third base coach Gary Disarcina and assistant hitting coach Pat Roessler have been informed their contracts will not be renewed. The Nationals made some strides this season but Davey Martinez will have some new faces.

Ghiroli followed up with another change as well.

Eric Young Jr is also not returning, sources say.

While there will be all this turnover on staff, two of the most important organization members are returning, as both Davey Martinez and GM Mike Rizzo signed contract extensions late in this past season.

The Nationals finished 71-91 and a whopping 33.0 games back in the division. They are in the midst of a rebuild but are hoping to turn things around quickly in 2024.

The Nationals won the World Series in 2019 but then ended up tearing down over the next few seasons, dealing away Max Scherzer, Juan Soto, Trea Turner, Kyle Schwarber and others.

Some of the fruits of those deals started to take hold in 2023 and will need to take bigger jumps next season. Josiah Gray, CJ Abrams, Lane Thomas and Keibert Ruiz have all proven to be solid big league regulars.

It will be an interesting offseason in the division in general. After the Mets slumped to a fourth-place finish, they'll be in the market for some big additions and the Miami Marlins also have uncertainty with GM Kim Ng, who has her contract up.
