The newest episode of 'The Payoff Pitch' podcast is out! It's the latest offering from Fastball and FanNation to keep you engaged in everything happening in Major League Baseball right now. Our own Brady Farkas hosts a program that comes out each Wednesday by 8 a.m. ET.

On this week's episode, Brady is joined by 14-year veteran Geoff Blum, who also serves as one of the television voices of the Houston Astros.

They talk about what makes the Astros so good, how their player development system works, how to get Yordan Alvarez out, Lance McCullers injury history and more, including his own career.

They talk about him making his major league debut with the now-defunct Montreal Expos, the feeling around the franchise right before they left Montreal, playing with a young Vladimir Guerrero and then winning a World Series with the 2005 Chicago White Sox.

Brady was actually at that World Series Game 1 between the Astros and White Sox and the two share a laugh about his memories of that experience.

You can watch the full interview with Blum here:

In addition to the Blum interview, Brady talks on this weeks episode about the Pirates injury to Oneil Cruz, a revelation about Shohei Ohtani and if Fernando Tatis Jr. will be welcomed back to baseball upon his return from his PED suspension.

The next episode will be released next Wednesday, April 19th, one day before Tatis Jr. is eligible to return.
