This Seattle Mariners series with the Milwaukee Brewers has been mostly forgettable. The Mariners got pounded on Monday, 7-3, before losing a tough game in extra innings on Tuesday. And the Mariners bullpen blew the game on Wednesday and helped fuel a 5-3 loss. The Mariners dropped to 8-11 after the three-game sweep.

However, despite the failures of this series with the Brewers, the Mariners found a way to have a little fun, debuting their new "home run trident." Julio Rodriguez hit his fourth home of the year in the third inning. At the time, it gave the Mariners a 2-0 lead. There was reason to smile at this point. The home run came off Brewers lefty Eric Lauer.

The Mariners have had a home run prop before; they used to give the home run hitter the "swelmet" which was a blue and yellow helmet. Last year's version featured a little cartoon bomb on one side.

This celebration seems fun and appropriate, considering the Mariners earliest logo was an upside-down trident which looked like an M. A trident is also something that those on the sea would use, which is what a Mariner is.

As fun as the celebration is though, it's no Baltimore Orioles, who have gone viral recently for their innovative celebrations.

As for Rodriguez, who hit the home run, he now has 12 RBI on the season to go along with four stolen bases.

He won the American League Rookie of the Year last season and helped the Mariners make the playoffs for the first time since 2001. They won the wild card series with the Blue Jays before falling in the ALDS to the Astros.
