Chicago White Sox left fielder Andrew Benintendi made a spectacular catch Tuesday night, robbing Minnesota Twins shortstop Carlos Correa of a home run at Guaranteed Rate Field in Chicago.

White Sox starter Michael Kopech received a big help from Benintendi in the top of the first inning Monday night.

Facing the hotly pursued Correa, Kopech left a hanging slider up in the zone, which the Twins shortstop sent to deep left field. Benintendi leaped up to make a sensational catch, robbing Correa of the home run to end the inning and keeping the game tied at 0-0.

The White Sox signed Benintendi to a five-year, $75 million deal over the winter. It is the richest free agent contract the club has ever shelled out. Through 25 games, Benintendi entered play Tuesday night slashing .281/.337/.670. He has not yet homered this season, but now he has taken a home run back from an opposing player.

After failing to complete $300 million contract agreements with the San Francisco Giants and New York Mets, Correa agreed to a six-year, $200 million deal to return to the Twins, with vesting options that could increase the value of his contract to $270 million.

Through his first 25 games, Correa is slashing .202/.283/.634.

The Twins and White Sox are playing game one of a three-game series Monday night. Earlier in the day, the White Sox made 11 roster moves, in hopes of shaking things up and bringing life to an 8-21 team.
