Like the rest of baseball, the New York Yankees released their 2024 schedule on Thursday.

The entire major leagues will open up the season on March 28 next year, and the Yankees will get a saucy matchup with the Houston Astros - in Houston.

MLB.com released several interesting nuggets on the Yanks schedule:

Yes, the Yankees will begin 2024 on the road against their frequent postseason tormentor, the Astros, while the home opener is set for April 5 against the Blue Jays. The 2024 schedule also brings a rare visit from the Yankees’ long-ago New York counterpart, the Dodgers (June 7-9). While the Yankees have hosted the Dodgers for a whopping 32 World Series games over the years (21 before the franchise left Brooklyn), L.A. has only played five regular-season games at Yankee Stadium -- two in 2013 and three in '16.

-The Astros series will be a four-game series right off the bat, which will be very difficult as Houston is always one of the best teams in baseball.

-Interestingly enough, the Yankees also won't see the Red Sox at all until June, when they play them for three games in Boston from June 14-16.

-The Yanks also have a tough stretch right before the All-Star break, playing six straight road games against the Rays and Orioles before the Midsummer Classic.

--Finally, the Yankees get a nice end of the season, wrapping up the year with six home games against Baltimore and Pittsburgh.

The Yankees begin the second half of the 2023 season on Friday against the Colorado Rockies.
