Boxing Legend Gets Brutally Honest On Anthony Joshua vs. Deontay Wilder

Could AJ be setting himself up for a major blow to his career?

International Boxing Hall of Famer Carl Froch has shared his honest take on an Anthony Joshua vs. Deontay Wilder bout.

The pro boxing career of Anthony Joshua has been a roller coaster ride. Joshua had a perfect record of 22-0 and captured world titles in the heavyweight division along the way. AJ then ran into Andy Ruiz, who handed him his first pro defeat via seventh-round TKO.

Joshua avenged his loss to Ruiz by earning a unanimous decision in their rematch. AJ would soon meet his match, however, dropping two straight bouts to Oleksandar Usyk. AJ followed those two losses with a safe decision win over Jermaine Franklin.

Talks for another bout between Joshua and Dillian Whyte initially hit a bit of a snag due to a rematch clause. That issue has reportedly been solved, and the negotiations are back on.

Before word of negotiations being back on surfaced, Carl Froch weighed in on AJ's next move. Taking to his YouTube Channel, Froch made it clear that if Joshua forgoes the Whyte matchup in favor of a showdown with Deontay Wilder, he will pay dearly for it.

"Let me tell you something," Froch said. "If he goes out to Saudi Arabia and doesn't fight Dillian Whyte and goes straight to Saudi and fights Deontay Wilder on the back of the Jermaine Franklin little boxing session, little keep out of the way, don't get involved, don't get hit with anything, then he's gonna go out to Saudi Arabia, jump in there with Deontay Wilder and get El Sparkoed in one round like I said before. He will get knocked out in one round by Deontay Wilder if he thinks he can jump straight in there with him in his next fight following on from the Franklin match."
